Multi-party mediation administration

Family and workplace matters often involve more than two principal disputants. Admin fails when each party's status lives in a different email thread. On Neutly Practice, matters support up to six principal disputants with the same structured confirmation, intake, and document path, so preparation status is visible before session day.

General information only, not legal advice, mediation advice, or a substitute for professional judgment. Neutly is administrative software for mediator practices; it does not host live video or select court neutrals. Mediators and lawyers remain responsible for their work.

Updated

Who counts as a principal disputant

Neutly distinguishes principal disputants from advisors. Additional participants in intake are for lawyers and advisors, not extra sides added to avoid multi-party limits.

Practice supports up to six principal disputants on one matter. Solo suits two-party matters; upgrade when your caseload regularly exceeds that.

All-party confirmation at scale

When one party books, every other principal disputant confirms participation before the workflow advances. Reminders go to all outstanding parties on the same schedule, which matters for perceived fairness in family and workplace disputes.

  • Branded emails with secure links, no party passwords
  • Equal reminder timing configurable once per practice
  • Booking party and non-booking parties visible on one matter record

Structured intake per party

Each disputant completes intake through their own secure link. Staff see who has finished, what is missing, and can nudge without reading attachments in an inbox.

Safety, accessibility, and representative details stay on the matter timeline alongside document status.

Documents and position papers

Upload and request rules follow your practice process. Track outstanding position papers per party where your intake design requires them, so session-day surprises show up days earlier.

Storage limits depend on Solo vs Practice; panel matters with heavy bundles may need Practice limits and clear retention expectations with parties.

Fee splits with several payers

Multi-party fee arrangements rarely fit a single default. Use equal splits, custom amounts per disputant, or a designated single payer when agreement allows.

Payment requests use Stripe Connect to your practice; send reminders until balances are paid or recorded by other means.

Session logistics and virtual links

Session logistics, waiting room and caucus links, and reminders reach all participants through the matter workflow. Neutly coordinates logistics; it does not host live video inside the product.

Practice adds SMS session reminders where configured, useful when several parties need the same time confirmation.

Honest limits

Neutly does not mediate disputes, select neutrals for court, or provide legal advice. Optional staff-only AI may assist internal notes when enabled; parties never log in to an AI chat on the platform.

Co-mediator assignment and multi-party consent gates are Practice features; confirm your subscription before promising six-disputant workflow to referrers.

Common questions

Can six disputants run on Solo?

No. Multi-party matters with more than two principal disputants require Practice. Solo remains appropriate for standard two-party workflows.

Do all parties need email access?

Each principal disputant needs a contact path for secure links. Your office can resend links; parties do not create standing accounts to complete intake or pay.

How does this differ from workplace or family landing pages?

The same matter engine powers family, workplace, and commercial types. Landing pages describe positioning; multi-party administration features depend on Practice entitlements.
